About Me

Portrait of Julie

I am a commercial photographer with a background in Advertising and Marketing Communications, where I developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling and the creation of images that connect with people.

I previously owned and operated a commercial photography studio, working with brands and businesses to produce imagery for products, services, and campaigns. That experience shaped the way I approach my work today, combining creative intuition with a strategic understanding of how images function within a brand.

My studies in advertising often intersected with Art History, especially in cases where visual language carried meaning beyond the immediate message. This continues to influence how I train my eye, guiding my attention to composition, symbolism, and emotional impact.

Alongside my photography, I maintain a watercolor painting practice that helps refine my observation of light, color, and atmosphere. This artistic foundation strengthens my photographic work, allowing me to approach each project with both technical precision and a painter's sensitivity.

Whether working with brands or developing personal work, I focus on creating images that are not only visually compelling, but intentional and meaningful.
